Wonderful watercolors, Mariano! The blues are worn down to the metal :-)

'Love Guido's space: and two studio rooms, one bedroom...that sounds divine!

Beautiful Guigo! I must say, I did like the black/white/browned early version though... [I have a tendency to prefer more muted or subtle color generally... For some reason brights don't really get [move] me in the same way.... [Who can explain personal taste you know %_^...?]

Vizma, most of my larger paintings are documented in detail since KDJ asked me how *I did this*?

Dreamcatcher one has been published on personal blog

http://guidovermeulen.blogspot.com

Stages are:

1. Wet stage (pouring black China ink on wet paper, in several dillutiuons and washing them away sometimes, playing with a)dillution degree b) time of washing images away c) speed or height of pouring

In French this technique is called LAVIS, close to oriental ways of painting!

2. Drawing stage after wet stage has dried, acting on images and forms I see, a bit like viewing cloud images and accentuate what you see (which is different for all viewers, turn around the paper because you see different images left right top and bottom, decide on which composition you will act in the end, various solutions are possible, sometimes I wait for weeks before coming to a conclusion)

3. Color stages

3A Determing background and foreground or vice versa

3B Determing colors for both

3C Act on the highlighted forms or images with color variations, often I’ll divide a large image into smaller once like *a box in a box in a box* image

4. Finished stage: deciding on more graphical details, title and so on

Guido, could we have a close-up of your paints/inks please? I love how your painted envelopes look so glossy. (especially the blacks.)

Oh yeah, painting made with a little help of my youngest male kitten!

And he defends like a tiger about what is his unclear contribution...

Thank you Buzz !!!
