I work on many pieces simultaneously - not just mail art: paper, mixed media, collage, panels- and I had run out of space to place incomplete work as it dries. So I built a storage rack with many shelves, shown here in the back corner. Now my…Continue

Here's my artspace today, about like it usually looks. Semi-controlled chaos.

And another box, also SA made. The Schweppes one is under the table and holds larger books. A bit empty, as the books are usually strewn on the floor by my feet.

Sorry, it wasn't a Woodroofes box, it's a Wattle-Adelaide ropes and nails box with segments too, and they keep my oils paints somewhat tidy! And wooden spoons.

Ah, Vizma, another appreciator of boxes with history. The 7-up is one I couldn't part with when closing shop. You might not be able to tell in the photo, but the crate is divided into quarters with wood slots, so generally the paints can be kept slightly separated according to warm and cool colors. Small pieces of structure in the midst of chaos. What does a Woodroofe's box look like?? Pic please!

Pierre Cardin watercolours?? How fancy katerina! Thanks for backing me up and ganging up on Cheryl with me! We'll break her yet!

Nancy, those paints look like a lipstick palette, sticky and gooey! I'd like to stick my fingers in them!! And also look at them all day close-up! And I loooove the 7up wooden box! I have a Woodroofe's lemonade box (SA lemonade) and a Schweppes box which I'd never ever part with! Box obsession!

[why do i find pictures of art supplies (esp used - ah, those watercolors!) so beautiful?!]

Seeing Guido's space and work in progress, Mariano's and Kat's beautiful watercolors, among many other things, is riveting. I could look at this stuff all day. And Vizma, the great not orderliness of your work table is like comfort food or something--you know, the not-alone feeling, haha. ONe of several reasons I love looking at watercolor palettes is that in 1988 the first thing I ever painted that struck as remotely abstract was a stylized up-close bird's-eye view version of my open watercolor palette!

It hasn't been used in about 7 years, but it's nearby always, and here is mine, along with a photo of the acrylic fluids and heavy-body paints I tend to use now, usually on book pages as collage materials:

Here come the giant ACRYLICS! But they are no comparison to your fantastic paints, Guido!

OOPS, is this becoming a royal intercontinental batlle of watercolors??? (smiley)

I prefer a republican one of course! May God F *** the Queen (after the king being beheaded)
