Just finished a drawing/painting (mixed media - I drew and painted the face, neck, and hat but brought in details from original photographs of mine for the shirt and the background.  This man was a great American artist who died tragically a few years ago but he was also a family friend.  I grew up with him around and I miss him a lot.  He was just getting (justifiably) well-known internationally for his work and being invited to shows and getting awards after a lifetime of making wonderful art.  He was an inspiration.  I am really proud of this piece and wanted to share it with you.

CASPER BANJO, American Artist, famous for putting bricks in a lot of his work (hence the brick wall in the background) 1939 - 2008  (May he rest in peace.)

I agree Theo - someone I know also does that - though not with ostrich eggs!  That must be a sight to see. :D

I've been going crazy drawing lately - here's my latest (featuring my favorite dance group in the world - Pilobolus - google them if you've never seen any of their work - they are phenomenal!).

First the partial sketch:

Then the final piece, which I turned into an artistamp:

I'm working on some other pieces based on their work as well.  Really hard to pull off but worth it in the end, I think.

Also did a weird sketch of Yoko Ono which I nonetheless like:

Oh, I love painted eggs. One of my friends does eggs in the Ukrainian tradition and she has access to ostrich eggs. They are awesome!
