Yes you are lucky over there Bradford.

Thanks Mel Anie. I made a good investment all those years ago but I do not put it pass the PO to cancel them somehow. I shall check prices regularly now, it would have been dreadful if Alan Brignull had not told me.

I forgot to add, sorry about your privatized postal rates going up every year.  As you can see from the table I posted, our rates do not go up as often and are lower overall.  The future, I cannot predict.

US postal rates are set to change on the 26th of January 2021.  (They are not already in place.)  Here is a summary:

Product Current Rate New Rate
Letters (1 oz.)  55 cents  55 cents (no change)
Letters additional oz.  15 cents   20 cents
Letters Nonmachinable Surcharge  20 cents  21 cents
Domestic Postcards   35 cents   36 cents
Flats (1 oz.)   $1 (no change)   $1 (no change)
Letters - International $1.20  $1.20 (no change)

Non-denominational 2nd class and 1st class stamps are always valid, Martha, whatever price you paid for them. 2nd class costs 66p now. 1st class, 85p. But if you bought them when they were cheaper and they have not been used, you can use them.

Second class stamps are surely OK? I bought lots of them years ago

Yes, a bit of a shock.  Luckliy I found out last December so bought a big stack of 2nd class  stamps along with my Xmas stamps.  The PO is sneaky like that!  I might be using carrier pigeon from now on!

Does everybody know that PO prices have changed since January 1st? I did not, the PO could have found a way to make it public. I nearly sent my next batch with less postage than the necessary.
