Even though it makes sense that we can look on each others profiles, you may want to add your address here and any blogs or other accounts you want highlighted. This way it's in a closed environment and we all get to share.

What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

We are sooo close, and because of this, I've decided that on 1 Dec. 2011, day 366, I will send this rubber stamp to someone who is still in the process of making mail art every day for a year. If you send me your name, I'll assign it a number, and on day 366 I'll use a random number generator to choose the recipient. If you're interested in participating, send me your name via my IUOMA member page.

Today, I just stopped packing, dropped by the PO, scanned them for a change and now it's back to packing.  Thank you all for keeping me afloat!  It seems many of you have felt the pain of being separated from your art supplies BUT still manage to get the mail out.  Kudos to you all!  I did manage to get one outgoing piece in the mail today!

THANK YOU ALL!!!

Mim and I have reached #331...count down: 34-to-go!

And I am going to post here my treasures from Tiny Town:

Mim sent #322 and #223 and #183 (this was "half-way" back on June 1st!)

'Love 'em ALL! Thank you, Mim!

Wow, has it been a week already Andy ? The beard is gone, swamped with work and I just finished my last 365 posting!

Still working on making it to Paris in February, so go ahead and plan without me but do let me know dates. They are telling me no decision to be made until mid January.

We're in the midst of a building project and I have reduced my art stuff to a box for junk that might inspire me and the stuff I need- some gouache, pens, glue, etc.  I found it painful to put away the stuff that I might need but within a day or two it was liberating.

Katerina, you are so right.  When I look around at all of the materials that are available to me, I could do that.  Now IF I do start another trash pile with home improvement goodies - it would be very Haptic!

I already keep a box by the front door where I deposit junk mail and every month, pick through it to shred the personal papers. That's more fodder.  Keep the glue, stamps, and writing materials and maybe some acrylics, brushes......oh the list starts to grow.  Have to watch that!

Thanks, thought it was there, but somehow missed it.

PrettyLily, take care and enjoy the time of "chaos" :-)

You could pack up and store EVERYTHING, and "survive" by making mail art

only with scraps and materials from the home improvement project.

Then, when all the dust is settled, when all is finished..then, go to the storage unit, open the boxes, etc. and like CHRISTMAS: you can rediscover all you materials and art supplies and brushes and paints anew ...what fun!
