SUPERHERO! My plate arrived today, not a scratch on it. The postal service did however put it in a parcel container and wrapped that with plastic bands! My niece told everyone I got a plate in the mail, and family members showed up on my doorstep for a viewing! LOL! Thanks so much!!!!!!!

Hi Superhero! And it got here today! And I posted it today! A slight miracle, that one. I also posted pieces from Julie, Karen Champlin, (2) Susan Wood, JJalltheway (2), Stan Askew, Sue Bowen, Laura Podob, and a second one from Mim. One dates back to April 2; some may even be earlier. for those of you involved in the mail call for my grandparents, i'm not able to make it this weekend because my aunt is in the hospital. she has MS (i think it's MS??) and isn't doing well. my mom said it's not a good weekend to come up. so it will have to be another time i get the photos. as for my aunt, i'll keep you updated i anything major happens. :-/

on the 3rd, 4th, 5th of june here in iowa city is the annual Art Festival. I think that would be a great place to do some attention gathering for FREE ART! i'm thinking of documenting all of my received mail art from MY WALL, packing them each up in manilla envelopes and painting over them with black paint, printing out the free art logo and taping it onto the envelopes, then handing them out to random people at the festival. i will add links to the FREE ART blog on the envelope and inside. on the blog I would post who each artwork is by and a title, if applicable. the art festival is definitely a more pretentious sort of event, all artists are "professional" and each gets a little kiosk to sell their pieces. there is free music, and lots of beer, but the actual arts are more of the left side of MLAAC's fluxus definition. i think they could use some FREE ART there!!!

 

if i manage to pull this off, a lot of your folks' art should be in the hands of the public!
