Even though it makes sense that we can look on each others profiles, you may want to add your address here and any blogs or other accounts you want highlighted. This way it's in a closed environment and we all get to share.

What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

It's summer, Sue...thanks for the compliment ;-)

Time for sea, sand (and sandpaper sandpo), Greek islands and some tall Greek sea grass, too. Lay-back time!

Systems are not all bad. And folk who adhere to systems are not all trapped. To each their drummer.

you have to know when to exit the system i guess.

it's actually a big zombie subtheme,

people trapped inside the system.

it's sad, but it happens.

DON'T BE A ZOMBIE! ;-D

My concern is not directed at you, superhero <hug>. The journal you sent made me cry, but not from frustration ... just being sad because I don't have the words to fit yours. I'm just totally overwhelmed with mail at the moment. It is my own doing because I insist on keeping to my system, which is incredibly labor intense, but I'm overwhelmed all the same.

sorry about the add & pass, pm.

you can toss it if you like.

no hard feelings if you do. :)

just thought you were interested in it is all.

Back to the add and pass stuff. I didn't mean to be so grouchy, but I really am having a very hard time keeping up with correspondence and I guess that frustration came through in my post. I've got incoming mailart from February that hasn't received a response yet and it is weighing heavy on me.

I know I can just send the add and pass along, but I never feel good about that unless I am 100% sure the recipient won't feel burdened. Now that there are a few names on this thread of people who would like add and pass, I won't feel bad.

My favorite yellow USPS sticker is the one that says "Return to Sender. No Mail Receptacle." Years ago one of these stickers was on a postcard returned to me that I had sent to New Hampshire. I emailed the recipient and she said she did indeed have a "receptacle." So I sent the postcard back out and wrote "she has a receptacle" above the address. Her mailman still kids her about that. We never did figure out why the mail was returned in the first place, but it might have been that the mailbox was not sufficiently dug out of the snow and it was a substitute mailman who was one of those workers who is a stickler for rules and wouldn't bend them to reach over the snowbank.

Katerina your cards are AWESOME!

Maab, the address looks very readable, but maybe the machine was thrown by the marks behind NY.  I have had cards ripped, and even broken returned to me when the machine partially ate them.  What ever happened to the "good old days" when the mail was stamped by hand?  Over; I guess.  So sad....  Just be happy the machine didn't eat it; never making its way to you, or back to Mim.  That would be really sad.  That happens!  Just plain lost.
