Letter Openers

What do you use to open your mail art? A 19th century engraved letter opener with a carved inlaid alabaster handle? A dull table knife? An overly excited yet always regretful rip with your hands? Your teeth? Join this group and show IUOMA what you use. (Please join if you use your teeth. I couldn't even find a picture of someone doing that on the internet. I may have subconsciously started this group just because I want to see that.)

I've had this letter opener for 25 years, an offhand gift from an ex who never got me anything else. I used to lose it often till it found the perfect home inside a heavy stone vase alongside the other opening implements. Always put it back in the same place and I won't lose it until I forget that I changed the place...

Nice trio, Heidi! Never thought of using my bone burnisher that way. Hmmm.

A beautiful lapis opener from my parents when they went on a South American cruise years ago, and my überpractical ruler opener (got it at a paper show probably 20 years ago. Also, extra! My 30-year-old well-used bone folder doubles as a letter opener sometimes.

'Must be chrome-plated metal, not really genuine "silver",

but it has a friendly music-playing mail art angel on top :-)
