David Stafford has become an asemic commentator for us, part cynic and part cheerleader. With all the ether, it's always good to have reality checks and keep things in perspective: Latest David Stafford asemic piece:

DeVillo in Cryptonia

I have so far received four mailings as part of the asemic book project number 1. All the covers are scanned into "my photos" although they do not have much to show for their journey through the postal system.
all being well I should start sending out my own contributions this week sometime.

That is a brochure my friend brought me from The Republic of Georgia. Fascinating. I thought it was asemic writing!

On the subject of Mim & cut-ups, here's some recent mail-art I received from her. Note in particular the work at the top:

Mail-art by Mim Golub Scalin (Virginia, USA)

Can the Burroughs cut-up method be used to create asemic writing? Mim's work would suggest you can. She's a collage artist so comes by this naturally. Chopping up the existing alphabet and rearranging material (as randomly as possible) could lead to language and image discoveries generally, I think.
