Event Description

ARTISTAMPS / IN THE FORM OF A STAMP

IN THE FORM OF STAMP / 70 Years of Marcello Diotallevi
Space Ophen Virtual Art Gallery of Salerno was founded in 2009 as an experimental space now trying to make it clear that the only law of the market is not necessarily given precedence over cultural and creative. Indeed, very often the alternative production of artists called "frontier" innovative and poetic reaches very high levels above the standards set by the official system of contemporary art because the artists that I consider "borderline", especially artists postal, are deliberately to share a new way of understanding the communication to the outside of a normal circuit and aseptic trade standard. The Mail Art, designed by Ray Johnson in the '60s, was born, in fact, as a phenomenon essentially artistic sharing proposals of the Fluxus movement in a kind of art form fully relational and "underground", released by logical patterns of production proposed by the galleries commercial. The works of Mail Art, mailed traveling from one end of the planet and often come complete with stamps, stamps, stickers and even three-dimensional elements. Envelopes, and stamps are a clear testimony of a journey that is enriched with new proposals communication increasingly becoming very often works of art.
