"Serbia is officially following 'global trends'—postage prices just went up! Still affordable, but hey, at least we’re staying trendy! 😁😁😁🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣❗"

Sorry, prices are rising everywhere, in my opinion. In Moscow, prices for postal services also increased slightly in November 2025.

yes, ILYA, thanks for the conversation.

unfortunately, the price increase is inversely proportional to the quality of the service.

In Japan also, the air mail postage price went up in October 2024.  But compared to most countries in Europe, our postage is still  very affordable, like, roughly one Euro ( 120 ~ 160 yen /JPN - depending on the region / country)  for an air mail under 25 grams to worldwide, which I think is less than what you pay for postage in Serbia, Zorica.

When I was around 13 years old, it was only under 10 grams, not 25 grams, with about the same postage,  though, and I was already sending air mails worldwide then. At that time, I was quite struggling about what I could include in an envelope with less than only 10 grams. I was thinking that people in Postal Service in Japan are quite mean as a child - I could only include one single light-weight paper in an envelope at that time... 😞

Nowadays, it is quite good. Not expensive yet and our postal service is pretty reliable with relatively fast delivery  service.

I really CAN'T BELIEVE IT! On 1/13/2026, they received my mail for America and Canada! Today they say it has been suspended again!

🧑🏼‍⚖️!

I have to say that postage in Spain is quite expensive, and don't get me started on the United States, Canada, or Japan—it's incredibly expensive! For this reason, I can't send as much art as I would like, 😡 I hope you all understand!

Yes, Ana, I completely understand. Thanks for the comment. What’s happening in Serbia is beyond common sense. They keep introducing new systems, supposedly for the sake of progress and making life easier. For a while now, I’ve been joking with my amazing, long-haired mailman, saying, 'What are you doing here? Haven’t robots replaced you yet?'
Right now in Serbia, a flat rate has been introduced for the entire world. To be precise, the price of a letter is the same for Europe and for other continents. They also removed the 'airmail' option, which doesn't even make sense to the postal workers themselves. Because of that, delivery times are much longer. For example, something that used to arrive in 7 days now takes over 50 days.
I don't know if it's expensive—that’s a matter of adrenaline and personal choice. For instance, for the price of a pack of cigarettes, you can send 3 postcards. And in Serbia, people usually smoke two packs a day... 😁 I’ll write more on this topic later... it’s just too exhausting to write in English these days.😅😁🖐️🖐️❗

Hello Ana,

Perhaps you can mention it in your profile if you like, then more people can understand your situation that you cannot seem to send many mail art from Spain due to the expensive postage cost. I would be happy to

Send you my mail art for free of charge if you like. I ask you nothing in return. Please let me know ! 🙋🌿

Of course!!! I would be delighted to receive mail art from you from Japan!!! Just don't forget to include your address. 😊 Thank you so very much.

here is

a small illustration on that topic 😉

Thank you so much, Zorica! I love it. You perfectly captured the struggle of 'everything I want' vs the reality of postal fees. A true story of value and endurance! 😉
