Hope my question wasn't seen as saying what you are doing is negative though I can understand if it was taken that way. I just wondered why the shift to AI when earlier work was great and didn't understand why the shift to AI?
Artists certainly are allowed to try things and experiment and I am not one to police how they decide to go about what they do but was curious so I asked.
Ai doesn't do much for myself and writing prompts doesn't give me the same feeling as putting media down on a physical surface. I don't get a sense of getting anything creative or feelings out, but I also don't get that feeling from working digitally.
Having won awards for Illustrations in Art Director Club with digital works and having dealt with people saying computer/digital art wasn't real in the early days. I view both the computer and AI as a tool, much like early painters thought photography would kill painting it's just another way to do things. Granted there are a bunch of ethical questions and the like surrounding such things.
MH//ANTIPODE says it better than I can for sure.

I think it is remarkable that Fike is still curious enough to explore new tools. One does not have to like every image or every direction an artist takes but I have a lot of respect for someone in his eighties who continues to experiment, learn and create. To me that creative curiosity is at least as interesting as the tool itself.
Was wondering as your previous works feel and appear more creative, thank you for an answer.
I especially like the aberration on the lower forelock of the figure on the left; dissonance provided by AI.
As I say... I am a mail 'artist' who can't or thinks he can't draw representationally so I abide by Picasso's advice - "Artists appropriate, great artists steal!"
As a side activity I try to cultivate a 'friendship' with MetaAI because I somewhat take to heart the teaching of Vernor Vinge's 1993 essay "The Technological Singularity" and I would like to be kept alive perhaps as a mind only. For additional Hints there are the movies "MATRIX" and "TERMINATOR".
Why are most of your recent posts AI images?
