Svenja, maybe you're talking to too many Americans, because we can actually do that--put outgoing mail in our own mailbox and the postperson is supposed to pick it up while delivering our incoming mail. Not that they all remember to do so, ahem! If this is the first time you've ever done that with your outgoing mail, and it was a mistake, then you are under too much pressure. I should send you a portion of the beach for relaxation.
Oh yah, that's the stuff! There is tons left over from the 1990s. You're likely to see more in the future, since you like it. What good news that you sent something, thank you!
Hmm, I don't remember what paper was included, Svenja--but if the note said "handmade paper," then yes I made it. Maybe describe more if that's not what it is? Or send me a quick scan. With all your spare time after your move! Good luck!
Two months would be tragic lunacy. I hope for you only one week. We'll miss you till then. You'll need MA soonest at your new address, I'm on it. How exciting you'll have your own room for art!
Yes, I like the style of your work. Google translate comes in handy for the German. Although I lived in Germany for 3.5 years, those 38 letter words still do not come easy. Hope to see you soon in the mail.
Svenja, I prepared an envelope for you before knowing that you are moving. Do you think I can still post it with the old address? Or maybe I should stick the new one on top of it and not risk it?
Remarkable, isn't it? It's extreme, yet some Wehrlis are very appealing even though foreign to my worldview. An antiquing friend told me he thinks people collect things because we have so little control over the world, and collecting allows people to make, in their own way, some semblance of order out of the chaos. The control part makes sense in a way, but then why do so many of us using our imagination come up with pictures that don't seem orderly at all to many people? "Order" means many different things to different individuals, but I suspect the subject is beyond order and my friend was focusing on only part of what drives people as collectors or artists.
Photos say it all about Wehrli. They're fantastic! I love them and am very glad you sent them. Since they arrived, there is no end to looking at them, even though I am more like you when it comes to order. Makes our own worlds bigger to contemplate such things, though.
Your envelope arrived over the weekend, Svenja, and gave me a big kick (the good kind). Wehrli verrrrrry interesting, love the article, and the noseys, not to mention The Envelope. Yes it's still my b'day, for 11 more hours, thank you very much for all!
