thanks for the nice comment. I love the small origami paper, it's so pretty and fun. And I don't feel so bad when I mess it up...

Bonsoir Jen! Many thanks for the Marilyn Monroe card, with all the string attached to it. Somehow it arrived intact and the French La Poste -- which isn't good at this sort of thing -- managed to read my address. The postlady was amused by it.

Hope you are enjoying your pens.

I'll be mailing you something back in the next couple of days.

Bestest, Moby

Yeah the horse picture does have a story. I went to visit my friend who lives in Hawaii. There's an area called the Waipio Valley on the big island that is almost to get around unless you have a four-wheel drive truck-thankfully my friend has one. As we were driving we ran into some wild horses in the valley who I guess smelled the sweet bananas and stuck his head into the car. Right as I took the picture the horse clamped down on my arm.

Thanks Jen. I don't know Rosie the Rivetter, but I think I get the general idea. I have a small collection of books featuring propaganda posters (from  the USSR, China, Cuba, etc) and some of the images there of the role of women in traditionally 'male' industries are really interesting. I was in Moscow in 1979 at an international political science conference. Lots of Western women were promoting the feminist cause, in what was then the usual Western and agressive feminist way. We all went out on an official  coach trip and saw a gang of women building/making a road. They were doing all the heavy stuff, and there wasn't an Ivan in sight. Our well-dressed, well-coiffured, well-perfumed etc Western feministists were really taken aback to see their sister Ivanovas doing all this work. It did put some of their extreme feminist ideas in a different -- dare I say more realistic?-- light. Hope you get the Master's. Hope you find a job. Bon weekend, Je Sweefoo

Jen. the computer ate my "friend" message! Love the work your doing! Like the retro-web images. Your thesis sounds interesting,i'm still puzzled why they wouldn't let you do pin-ups? There's a lot to write about in terms of art, history american culture, etc. Could i read your thesis some day? All the best! Neil Gorodn

You made me LAUGH!!  You could always tie your long lumpy yarn around a telephone pole or park bench and call it a Yarn Bomb!  (That's what I do sometimes!)  ...Or you could make a snowman out of foam in your front yard and put it on that!  With all that heat in Texas, everyone will know that you are a wishful thinker!!
