This photo intrigues me. there seems to be more than one story here. tiny bits of newsprint on intersecting threads can be moved - but - only to the next intersection. I will spend some time with this one. That isn't a bride carrying a wreath is it? First communion veil? Literal translations usually don't appeal to me, hmmm. Thank you Laurence.

Svenja is one of the Papermatitus Anonymous members shown in the photo. She won't tell which, though.

Yes, that's it. Tearing up paper napkins discreetly in cafes, or peeling labels off wine bottles one little piece at a time. Mystery solved. Diagnosis confirmed. ;--)

Oh, *that's* what it's called. What percentage of IUOMA members have Papermatitus? 110%? Nice story, CP ;--}

Explanation:

The lady bottom left, named Doris has a condition called Papermatitus.  People with this condition tear up ANY sort of paper they can find - whole pieces offend them greatly. It is important to hide all important documents like shopping lists and birth certificates as they chomp and spit their way through them especially.  Home affairs is not keen to KEEP reissuing these documents. Anyway, she founded a Papermatitus Anonymous group (pictured above. They are sworn to loyalty by the guy on the left (Uncle Jim) by chewing on the daily news. This is the FIRST official photograph of this elusive group that I have ever seen. Amazing documentation.
