Replacement stamps by C.T. Chew (Seattle, Washington, USA) with Claudio Romeo (Italy)

Stamp collaboration by IUOMA members Carl T. Chew (Seattle, Washington, USA) and Claudio Romeo (Italy)

December 15, 2013 - A few months ago, the great mail-artist and stamp master Carl T. Chew sent me a set of magnificent stamps that were, sadly, mangled somewhere in the postal system. Carl apparently saw my blog of the battered material and very kindly sent me these new stamps, which arrived intact.

These are the result of a collaboration between Carl and Claudio Romeo of Italy. I think they are absolutely extraordinary. Here is a closer view:

In addition to being a great collab, these stamps are also part of an add-and-pass project:

I am not sure that I am worthy of making a humble addition to this remarkable project. For now, I will hold on to the stamps, hoping I will be struck with inspiration.

Deepest thanks go to Carl T. Chew as well as congratulations to Claudio Romeo!

Carl's stamps are meltingly beautiful and arresting.

Thanks, Jay - mail-art at its best. Maybe we should call you KD-Jay

Rebecca, in the hands of these masters, stamps are indeed art. You have seen my moronic efforts, which have been parodied (MinXus)!

If 2014 is the Year of the Stamp, then I shall be relegated to benchwarmer.

Beautiful!  Maybe make 2014 the year of the stamp, DVS?
