Multi sensory booklet - from Katerina Nikoltsou

My very first mail from Greece arrived the other day. And it smelled wonderful...
I remember reading a comment on Bifidus's haptic group where Katerina was wondering if haptic art was restricted to the sense of touch. I think the general answer was a sort of a "yes but no" type of answer, after which Katerina came up with this booklet where she cleverly combined multi sensory goodies. After going through all of it I tried a quick experiment. I closed my eyes and thought about the booklet, and the strongest sense that came back to me was by far the smell (the book wasn't lying close to me), not the memory of what I touched or saw. Greece will forever smell like clove for me, that's the magic of haptic :-)
Thanks for sending, Katerina, I love what you did!

Your first mail art from greece, Marie? Well, time to send you more, and more, and more! Yes, your little haptic book was sprinkled with cloves...and that is soooo Greece. Now in the winter months there is a pear desert with sugar syrup and cinnamon and cloves on top! Mmmmmm...good!
