Knitted envelope! From Heleen de Vaan, Amsterdam, Nederland

Amsterdam is full of surprises, so happy to share one of them with you!

Inside, a sweet drawing, Where Has The Forrest Gone? and a note by Heleen.

Must find an answer which corresponds to such work, but it will be hard.

Thank you so much Heleen!

Hi guys, thanks for your comments!

Heleen, thanks again for a very cool work, a work worth waiting for! Fun to read little about your thoughts. The Post in Finland offers also this opportunity to create a personal stamp, but they don't approve all kind of images ;)

Way cool!

I'm glad my envelope arrived well, and happy to read you like it, Carina!
And sorry for replying that late on your beautiful mail art (I am not so fast at knitting envelopes :-)

Thank you all for your kind words. And yes, it's Heleen, though born in Amsterdam, now living (and creating mail art) in the small city of Amstelveen. And Amstelveen indeed is very close to the big city of Amsterdam where Suus lives (though Suus and I only know each other by snail mail art and have never met in real life yet!..).

I must say that I was inspired for this envelope by Thom Courcelle and by the Textile Mail Art project from Skybridge Studios - so I thought there was something in the air overseas :-)
And myself being worse at crocheting than at knitting, I thought knitting an envelope would be easier than Thom's fascinating crochet/woven work...

Concerning the postage stamps, the Dutch post company offers the opportunity to creat 'personal stamps', on which you can upload your own image. I thought that in some other countries this possibility is offered, too?
These 'personal stamps' cost more than regular stamps, and can be used as real postage stamps. So I was happy to see the IUOMA 25 years logo and created a stamp sheet with it (have a few stamps left).
The orange mailbox on the left is the mailbox I've put this mail art into. It's located next to my flat.

Fantastic piece by Heleen! Adjusting the zipper must have been a lot of work. Respect.
No, not from me = Suus, but I have been knitting envelops as well. Will be continued.

It's from Heleen, Dean! But I know, Suus is also using her knitting in mail art, must be something in the air in Amsterdam ;)

Nifty little purse and rubber stamps, too. And postage stamps! An IUOMA one! I'm jealous!

Suus? No, unless that's her new alias!?

A great idea, amazing with what Suus comes up with.  Bravo and thanks for blogging.
