Hmm. Patricia your comment about "creative guilt" got me to watch this. It talked about messy handwriting or miswritten information,  bit not so much the creative aspect. My envelopes that go beyond the edges sometimes get delivered and sometimes disappear.  I wonder if there is a video about that? I'll have to look... Hmm. Cheers

I wonder why it took a BRIT to unlock the mystery?

Does anyone experience 'CREATIVE GUILT" after watching this documentary?

good question katerina. i wonder about the same for taiwan post. i know my incoming mail has sometimes passed through human hands as there are sometimes address translations from english into chinese handwritten on the envelopes. or full address when someone has sent mail to my old address. i suspect for outgoing mail it's much simpler and just tossed in a pile for certain countries.

I wonder how it is done by the HELLenic Post?

...but in the Uk, ol' Britain, it is done like this:

Just one center in the USA for a country of 350 million people! So machines are taking care of 99% of the mail process, imagine! Guess my Greek postal clerk was wise to tell me to "print clearly or type address on plain white envelope" if I want a more "speedy" delivery. Darn...there goes "artsy" envelopes and addresses in spirals and around the collage, ha! Happy mail arty everyone :-)

Cool! Good info. Makes me want to print out all of my addresses on the computer, though... :( Also, I wonder if some of those coders "know" some of the mail artists with distinct envelope styles whose work they see over and over? hahaha. Fun to think about. Thanks for posting.
