I had a bit of an advantage as many of you know Nancy Bell Scott is my number one trashpo supplier. In the latest trash package, she sent me some actual NBS scraps. I found it surprisingly difficult to mimic her distinctive style. In doing so I discovered that while Nancy's style appears random and chaotic, the choices are all very calculated, such as the torn paper never has any raw edges. These are based on vintage Nancy as her latest pieces are moving in a more minimalist direction.

I won't go the ebay route this time Nance. Too much drama would whisk you away from us at IUOMA, so for selfish reasons I will keep this kit in house. I think I know who I am going to send it to...
Maybe put them on ebay, DK--that's how you made JMB famous, when I won his shopping list in summer 2011. But please do not, as I enjoy life now only as a *quiet* drama.
i have some more NBS scraps--the first ever Make A Fake NBS Collage starter Kit--anyone want it?
how interesting, but I could see that with how many recognizable images he uses. Maybe it was a certain someone herself who set him right
RE: Robert Rauschenberg.
At the IUOMA, we have our sideshow entertainment going on with members threatening to sue each other over postcards & copyright violations that are in any material sense worthless.
Robert Rauschenberg (needless to say I am a HUGE fan) IS a real case of an artist who got into serious hot water over the use of appropriated material in his work (such as magazine pages w/copyrighted photos). When your work starts selling for $millions$ the game changes, and at one point his was overwhelmed with suits. I don't know how he resolved it. It certainly does not change my admiration.
'shocking, humiliating, and exhilarating' completely sums up my day yesterday Nancy. Thank you for giving me language for it
my 'fake' Rauschenbergs-not quite what you ordered Nance, but I am covered in paint in the process

It is shocking, humiliating, and exhilarating.
Shocking revelations & the tangled webs we weave: NBS pirates Cheryl Penn asemics! DK uses them to make fake NBS! Cheryl Bell Keys!
As I've said before, you're going to get rich with your fakes series, especially if you pull off fake Rauschenbergs. Do you take requests? Please do a "combine" collage, they're my very favorites of his, and should take you only 4 or 5 months.
