Du vocabulaire essentiel, a boekie, from Marie Wintzer

A thick, yet very light boekie arrived last week from Japan!

The boekie is made with a great sensitivity and humor. I can not help but think of a bad hair cut :))) Marie understands.

I happen to know that Marie is interested in parenthesis, and was excited to find this poem in the same package as well.

The boekie is for sure a hair-raising little thing! I can flip through it forever. Thank you Marie!

non-linear

fantastic example Claire. You do it effortlessly.

Glad you "got" what I meant, as I was doing poorly explaining. Yes, it's an associative "discourse," "non-liner." associative, and ultimately non-rational? Olson who did the parenthetical thing in his writing coined the term "postmodern" in the 50s, so I guess that's what it's all related to.

well, it is how the mind works imnsho - linear "order" imposed/"taught." thus limits imposed. (yea facilitates communication blah blah...I often get shit for the "infinite digression" of my missives - I 'oft call her my muse.....She generally finds the meanderings/immense variegations of grey matter the true intrigue... 'oft infinitely interesting because not just (an) idea, but an illustration of (an) individual's brain-flow/thought-process(s), hence providing a whole other source of fascination/contemplation/inspiration etcetera etcetera etcetera... (Assuming, of course, that the contents of the given mind itself... Doors doors doors ad infinitum...

(o: what i meant was, i once penned a poem i titled "infinite digression".... 'twas pages indeed...

I'm glad people responded to that, Claire & Vizma. Claire, that is pretty much it, although the digressions would go many pages.

(once penned a poem

(you know once I had the nicest pen and I lost it

(paradise lost might be an example of the truly visionary before Blake

(the tiger stands alone on the great veldt, & gathered the birds of prey

Endless digressions produced by rapid-fire association.(not unlike unedited Kerouac

Nothing worse than an unclosed parenthesis. And smiley faces don't count...

I wonder if the Empress knows Charles Olson was the master of the unclosed parentheses:

 (.......

        (.........

                 (.........

= infinite digression
