All Kinds of Anniversary Celebrations...

Some of the mail art I've received in recent months has celebrated the endurance of Mail Art through the postal system...

I have been remiss in acknowledging this WINNING piece of mail art from Ursula Rodgers... I've been keeping it on top of the 'received' pile because I've been enjoying it so much.  Ursula is a similar-souled artist--she's a charity knitter, makes amazing mail art, and reaches out to make new connections through the mail!  (I love all those qualities...)  This stunner deserves a carefully crafted response piece... you're on the list, Ursula!  Also loved the hand-sketched mail-box on the reverse side, and the small home-made IUOMA stamp!!

 

MomKat in Greece has been making new rubber stamps just to celebrate this 25th Anniversary of IUOMA-thing.  I LOVE that it is presently the backdrop wallpaper on this IUOMA site!! (have you noticed??).  I ALSO LOVE that I got my own personal rendition on a MomKat blue-candy-striped-edged envelope from Greece!  Kat also combined IUOMA's birthday celebration with my own!!  In fact, Kat's birthday wish was the very first piece of birthday mail that I received (couldn't believe it!).  Well it was much appreciated.  AND I don't mind that the card makes it look like I am celebrating 25 years! (LOL):

 

 

Lois Richter sent a REALLY great linoleum block print on a postcard celebrating the Artistamp Mailing List Yahoo Group celebrating 13 years this past October.  What a milestone for this group that has generated so many artistamp projects and exchanges over the years!  Hooray for Artistamps!   GREAT JOB, Lois!

 

And finally, dear Nancy Bell Scott has sent me some COBTASTIC mail art.  I should've marked the anniversary date of COB Mail Art so that we can measure it's endurance.  But what's to hold it back?  It's a celebration every time I open the mailbox and find a new miniature art gallery in my mail box...

Nancy would like me to know that there is a "reception immediately to follow the ceremony..."  Undoubtedly there will be sweet cornbread, corncakes, and tortillas in the buffet line...

And, HEY!!  The ARTWORK included is pretty wicked decent, too!!
