I am very fortunate to have received these pieces from Bruno. After REALLY pleading with the man for some WORDS, he describes his work as 'minimal' and 'emotionally detached'. Those terms describe these artworks succinctly :-). I have commented before on the sense of desolation/abandonment in Bruno's John pieces. The clean lines and faint images leave much to the imagination - an integral part of Bruno's 'unsaids'. Faint shadows skim the surface of the card, creating ghosts that once inhabited the esplanade. Shadow writing. Shadows creating writing. An interesting juxtaposition of materials and image - solid thick card with the faintest of silhouettes.
I called these fantasmical dandelions. Bruno didnt disagree - or agree :-) - he just said his work does not "mess with hermetic things, that it was playful with meaning". Playful with meaning - THAT even carries two meanings :-) Maybe when the lights dim and everyone goes home and the esplanade is quiet before the cleaning crew arrives, these come out to play?
The voices of the many, overlaid and intertwined. Simply. Beautifully.
Bruno - these are really FAB pieces - I LOVE them - thank you :-) - feel free to add MEANING if you choose - but knowing you, you wont - you'll be going to supper at the stationers...

All three are amazing! Lucky you, Cheryl! And perhaps words are not necessary here?
Especially for the first one: shadow-shapes , ghosts?
...minimal, minimal...words would only shatter the elequent silence!
Bravo...Beautiful Bruno!
