More French mail art! For some reason I get more mail from French artists than from any other country.
Great egg-carrying case on the back. How retro!

I know I showed Mail heArt from Katerina in an earlier post, however this arrived before the Valentine.
In response to her triangle upside down airmail mail, Katerina sent me this. Really great stamp.
Sneak preview of the contents through…

A vintage-looking hand made and decorated envelope from Nina in the Netherlands - my first Duthc mail art!
Interesting stamp, with its origami outlines. It is one of a set of 6 issued in 2014 that celebrates Dutch-Japanese relations, and is part of an ongoing series 'The Netherlands and beyond'. Nice article about this set here.
Philipp was a physician and botanist,…

MomKat sent me a ton of love from Thessaloniki - thanks!
Even the stamp has a hot pink background.
I also like the 'phi' on the date stamp for Phebruary :)…

I am not really known for being a colorful guy, although every now and again I can pull something off. So it really brightens up the mailbox and my day, particularly in these weeks of below freezing grey grey days to see color on the mat when I get home.
Thanks, Jazzie.
And thanks, Liberty. I love the turtle stamp.…

Petrolpetal sent this great envelope hand folded from a map of part of South Africa - the north eastern Cape, I think, with an added boat. Adventure calls! Just a pity that my adventures at the moment mostly consist of staying warm and dealing with driving to work in snow storms.
And of course Petrolpetal included her usual mix of amazing pieces…

Eva has an Oz postcard mail art project. She sent me a piece of Oz-related mail as a thank you for my entry. I like the dots on the O - makes me think of doughnuts.

Carina sent me a homemade envelope from an old magazine.
Finland/Suomi has some amazing stamps. They seem to come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Eva posted about a set of 'love' stamps that I really like, as an example.
Carina used the…

...not really, although they did come through the mail slot.
Minneapolis Gnome used a homemade envelope I sent him as a template for this beauty.
The Gnome Post artistamps are fantastic. Here's the bonus one from the back.…

I had admired Linda Faye French's series The Theory of Buttons. Each piece is subtitled, and, for me, the titles enhance the work.
Completely unexpected, The Theory of Buttons Solar, Electrical appeared in my mailbox.
Many silvered and blackened orbits, against a cosmic green and mauve firmament. With suns, planets, moons tightly…

One of the (many) things I like about mail art is chance encounters, which may turn into nothing. Or they may turn into something. Or they may turn into more than something.
I participated in a mail art call titled 'Le Labyrinthe', which my mail friend Jean let me know about.
The organizers sent out a catalog afterwards, and Laurence Gillot took my address from there and sent me a beautiful artist card.
I responded with one of my triangles, which…

I had been wondering what to send back to Laurence in response to the great little game she sent me naked in the mail.
A few days after it arrived, on garbage collection day, this was attached to my trash can:
And the back:…

I received this unusual 'naked' item in the mail from France.
And the back - a travel checkers game! And a great piece of airmail tape.
And on the back of the board, a lovely scene.…
