Zalop Tangle From Laura

Before I could wrap my head around which awesome piece of work to post today, my husband picked up Laura's Zalop Envelope, and so it was decided for me.

Laura approaches the Zalop Envelope using her Zentangle talents.  Zoom in close on these "tangles" folks and fall into the mystery, of how DOES she do it?  It's more than a doodle - it's a skill.  Laura…

Swimming to the Sound of that Song - from Nancy Bell Scott

Nancy has been spoiling (in a good way) my mailbox quite a bit last week. First with this ink drawing on thick paper of my favorite swimming aquatic creatures :-)) People tend to see all kinds of things in those drawings of hers, including things that are not in the dictionary. I have always seen them as aquatic creatures, but all of a sudden it stroke me that…

Everytime I receive a piece of mail from Mary England, I can feel the LOVE.  It's so obvious that she has great fun fun with her creations.  This card features two hearts on the from, and another on the back.  Three X LOVE.  Tiny sparkles cover the front.  Thank you, Mary.  Your mail always brightens the…

Des Livres Plus Magnifiques!

A couple of amazing Mail Art projects received in Book form... one from Marie Wintzer and another from Rob of Inkovia, both from the opposite side of the Pacific...

Marie's envelope was fascinating in and of itself--an impressionistic cityscape depicting people walking among the streets, between buildings, old and new, on a sunny-yellow day.  It's BEAUTIFUL…

Second Hand Vedas from Bentonville from Richard Canard

Got a used Yogi Tea bag from Richard Canard made into this found object mail creation. My favorite bit of wisdom from the tea bag philosophy is this: "Don't sleep counting sheep. ount blessings then sleep." Seriously, these are better than fortune cookies. Thanks Richard, but I will not be like my deceased Aunt and re-use it. Recycling must have its';…

Existential Everything and Nothing from ArtLikeArt

This is one of the most exciting conceptual pieces I have received to date. The first thing I saw in the mailbox was a videocassette size box that said "Empty" on the side and on the other it says "This package contains nothing but what you imagine to be inside. Don't open it. You'll be disappointed. The drawing on the outside of the box is amazing and I take it as a self portrait-she'll tell me if I'm wrong. So, what is inside the box? Did I open it? I did actually, against her better…
