Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
Da quanto tempo fai Arte postale (mail art)
dal 1985, ho scoperto che i francobolli bastava farseli da sè, da qui è nato il mio grande amore per la mail art.

Alcuni come Piermario Ciani, uno dei fondatori in Italia della mail Art, ha creduto che la mail art è stata uccisa dalla posta elettronica; secondo Franco Fontana “… oggi è solo un meraviglioso graffito delle neoavanguardie, e quindi pensano che con l’arrivo di internet, l’arte postale è destinata a morire. Personalmente, credo, che la Mail Art, essendo incentrata sulla manualità del fare non sarà condizionata da questo cambiamento marginale, per cui, sicuramente continuerà a essere ancora prodotta utilizzando il sistema postale oltre che ad altri nuovi modi di spedizione.

LA MAIL ART PER ME E’…..

La Mail Art non è condividere l’omologazione del linguaggio o ripetere supinamente modi di fare anacronistici perché ormai sclerotizzati.

La Mail Art è essenzialmente creatività , invenzione allo stato puro, senza alcun condizionamento, senza nessuna costrizione .

Per me la mail art è libertà ma anche laboratorio sperimentale di ricerca.

La mail arte non è soltanto gioco ma anche linguaggio, contaminazione di idee, confronto e condivisione di nuove proposte.

Se viene solo intesa come elaborazione “tout court” smarrisce il senso vero del suo esistere.

La Mail Art per me è anche "amore" !!!

In particolare, la Mail Art a me interessa perchè riesco a trovarmi più libero e più disponibile in senso creativo a sperimentare particolari modalità di lavoro al di fuori del circuito dell'arte ufficiale, ricerche che poi trasferisco nell'arte cosiddetta colta o ufficiale. Non sono due campi di lavoro separati ma concilianti e concidenti; c'è il momento della libera sperimentazione delle tematiche affrontate a confronto con altre realtà del pianeta (Il laboratorio globale del Network) e il momento della messa in atto d'interventi sperimentati e sperimentabili di ricerca personale.
