When I came home yesterday night from a nice evening with friends I found Frieder´s Laugh in my postbox and it made me smile all over my face...it was a perfect ending of a nice day so I say THANK YOU Frieder for sharing your laugh with me! Your drawing shows a man with an open-hearted smile, which finds directly it´s way..... is it your smile? It must be!…

FRITHIOFF JOHANSEN
Aknowledging, as he does, his debt to the age-old traditions of art, Frithioff Johansen still works with the classic materials used in painting, sculpture and graphic art. His own inherent curiosity has, nonetheless, taken him a long way, in terms of trying out new forms of impressions. Science and technology have provided one of the main sources of his inspiration for his work for many years.
Johansen has won international renown for his work…

Heart really matters for Katerina, we know that, and we know how good she is to us at IUOMA. Cheryl, Angie, and I think Lesley have already written a nice blog about her Heart Matters bookie, so this is slightly redundant, but can one ever have too much Heart Matters? I don't think so...

'Tis wonderful mail art from Mim, who has survived an earthquake in Virginia and now awaits Hurricane Irene!
She sent a hand-made envelope full of fun things to see and to be used on future mail art pieces! The envelope is made from a Virginia map and historical info page...just great fun to see and read!…

I recently showed a new co-worker of mine some of my outgoing mail art before placing it in the mailbox, and she was quite impressed--we might have a new convert! She was so impressed that she decided to make me a present and brought it in the very next day! It was a hand-made linocut print stamp designed specifically for me--what a hoot! The stamp is supposed to be a representation of a meteor-shower of "fabulousness" that includes a meteor-meatball down in the corner, but tumbling down…

Received this terrific print portrait from Frieder... I am assuming that it is a woodblock print, because there were still wood chip flakes clinging onto the print! I LOVE the rawness of that--it makes me feel like the artwork is "hot" off the press... as though I could sniff the piece and be able to smell the cut wood in Frieder's studio!...
The envelope, too,…

By nature I am a whimsical person who can whim her way into something a little quickly. I have decided with my Mail art to not burn myself out quickly by trying to keep up with all that I receive. So, I promise to send you a piece if you send me one but do not be disappointed if it takes time for me to get it to you. I haven't forgotten but simply waiting for that Muse to come knocking in my brain. Also, I am getting use to mailing Internationally and I haven't figured out all of the…

Yesterday I received a smelling tobacco postcard from Nadine Wendell. It contains a chinese cigarette pack and Nadine wrote that she found it on the ground. There is a terrible picture from teeth after years of smoking (I guess, can't read Chinese ;-) So it's two in one: a strong warning against smoking and wonderful mailart!

"Knitting Mill" and streams of other places flow across one page of the mail art card with a vintage "Air Mail" US stamp that Nancy sent. Perhaps it is upside-down, what that "Annual Report" reads that way...or not. It is nestled nicely in the olive tree.…
