Two beautiful mai art cards arrived in Greece from Tomoe in Japan. Both depict scenes of San Fracisco. The one on the left is by Tomoe and the other on the right is by her partner. Tomoe used a most delicate and soft-textured paper to print her painting, and it is a joy to the touch!
Thank you so much, Tomoe! Something in the mail to you soon,…

What a nice guy:
It was Angie&Snooky, I believe, who received this recently, and I commented very covetously about it. Voila, Carl sends me one of my own! Of course one of the best parts is this, on the back of the envelope:

I met David last year when he was a guest researcher in our lab for a month. Those were really good times, we had fun. Towards the end of his stay we found out about our common interest in photography, went out on a great photo walk (that cemetery with cherry blossoms, for those who have seen the picture, was taken on that day), and had ridiculous…

Don't you love it! "Primitive mail artist found 2011." I love it, Nadine. Second smaller card is "Los Angeles Subway," 2008, done by Nadine. The people's expressions are priceless, as are the ads, especially Call a Date.
Nadine, because we both have a thing for antique ephemera, included a quite-out-there "My Diary" paper written by a woman in 1933. As Nadine…

I love these:
It's a wonderful talent you have, Georgia, and I'm very happy to have these. I can send you more cards -- am loaded with them -- keep any for your collection that you like too much to use. The face I painted for you was my very first, and it was rather sad, wasn't it! Next time, a happy face for you. Thank you very much…

One inside, one on the envelope:
Lynda Jo's drawing style gives us very expressive subjects -- look at the eyes! -- yet with a beguiling looseness in her hand. Not easy to accomplish, but it looks like it comes naturally to her. I'm very happy to have these -- thank you so much, Lynda Jo…

I don’t make it a habit to post everything that graces my mailbox but sometimes things occur that require such attention. Yesterday, my mailbox contained a treasure trove of mailart. Six pieces of mailart and a letter in a red envelope. Red letter day indeed!
From Rod Summers a wonderful laminated piece. I have a device that might be able to laminate. This piece has given me an impetus to find laminating media. Thank you, Rod.…

Today I found a beauty in a small shop-"Morpho Hecuba",the butterfly reminds me of the colourful art of nature and every time I get a letter from one of you, I have the same feeling of coloured little beauties in my hand, fragile and wonderful.

Today, I received from Rosanna Veronesi of Italy a mixed media collage for the 12-12-12 End of the World Project.
It doesn't look like she's an IUOMA member... if anyone knows how I might get in touch with her on the web so that I can provide a link with her work, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know.
