My first mail art from Mark Russell

I received this beautifully enigmatic piece from Mark Russell (sorry I spelled the last name wrong on the photos!)  The envelope is spectacular front and back, especially the back, a work of art in itself. I don't know how it is made but it's fascinating to look at, like some mysterious code. If you look very closely at the back of the envelope, you can see the words "the swollen rivers" down near the left side....I just love it.…

Here's an envelope and little painting (oil, I'm guessing) that actually match, and a sweet little gold-flecked pony, from Grethe! Look at that thick purple paint on the flowers! And the dark background makes it look as though the flowers are being blown in a storm. I just love this! …
