Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
I love making work that can be given away. It is rare to receive mail with a personal message anymore, so when a piece arrives in my box with flair and personality, my entire day is filled with a certain kind of joy.

Hi Joy! Thanks for the vintage giraffe card. You are right, I have been so lucky as to have seen them in the wild. Not on the streets, as surprisingly many people still seem to imagine!, but in a reserve. It was close up too - they are truly magnificent and strangely elegant creatures. They radiate tranquility and contentment - like the elephants. Thanks again, and keep an eye on your mail box!

Hello. If you happen to be interested, I have been putting together an exhibition at the Franklin Arts Center Resident Artists Gallery, here in Brainerd, MN, to showcase Mail Art from all around the world. The exhibition is titled, 'POSTAL', and there is still a couple more weeks to send your Mail Art to us, to be included in the show. Check out the link below for more information. - Thanks, Martin.

Earthling, this is the last but certainly not the least welcome message to IUOMA you receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. When you joined IUOMA on September 7 I was unable to welcome you on board.  At the time I was in a celestial journey far beyond the Milky Way. Now, back to planet Earth, I´d love to be the other end when you decide it’s the right time to start trading snail mail art. If this is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:

The Celestial Scribe

Terrene Embassy

Republik van Patland

Caixa Postal 24827

Curitiba-PR

80510-970

Brazil

I look forward to see a piece of yours in our terrene mailbox. I will do my homework after receiving yours. This is nothing less than a Celestial Promise. I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland official envelope provider.

I have a couple of "welcome" images that I use, but, wow, this one is perfect for you! Me, too, love giving my art work away. See you in the mail.
