Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
My profile photo is part of an artcard I did a few years ago called "Delicate Bridges." It is worked in watercolor on the back of a piece of yellow invoice paper. Since the invoice paper is very thin (what was I thinking?), the finished watercolor is mounted on a piece of heavy watercolor paper.

Sometimes my art is a little serious, sometimes dopey. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference. I love sending and receiving the kind of mail that creates happiness.

Oh Linda, I really like the new look here on your profile. Bravo. And I received your mail today. Am smitten with the goodies, especially the painted papers. Love painted papers.  The "bad poetry" is great. Not epic in the technical sense, but epic in subject matter for sure. I find it inspiring. Thank you.

  • EJ Vest

That video posted by Bruno...yellow is an interesting color choice.  Don't think I can say what it brings to mind.

  • EJ Vest

Received the great junk journal you sent. You're a sweet and generous mail buddy, thank you so much.  I'm going to have fun messing around with this soon.  The variety of papers are cool.  And the envelope...love it.  Why is it that seeing one's own name and initials on things never fails to bring a smile? ;-)

  • Jill Carpenter

I like all forms of art, Linda.  Will post something today, but it may take up to 10 days from Australia.

  • Terry Owenby

Wow! What a cool laminated postcard you sent me, Linda! Thanks so much. I can see lamination opening up all kinds of possibilities for postcards, for those who can do it. :-) Thank you, too, for the wonderful painted papers, ephemera, and T.O. initials. I love paper and the ones you sent are welcome indeed. Thanks again!

Hi Linda--the bicycle-based image does lend itself to imaginative interpretations--thanks for your comment. BTW: your imagery is wonderful, I'm glad that you decided to follow your creative instincts!

  • Carmela Rizzuto

Linda--thanks for asking and i don't mind replying. You've posted a number of photos lately and your work caught my eye. Actually I've 'favorited' at least 2-- But specifically 'chipping sparrow' and 'revelatory captions' demonstrate your drawing skills. Drawing is a favorite technique of mine and I've been doing more lately-it is my first love. Your use of watercolor in several of your animal sketches is well done--again a favorite media of mine. But you don't see it too much in my mail art. So I guess you could say that I sensed a kindred art spirit.

I've been getting back to basics in my drawing. You can see my efforts, some more successful than others (especially the 12/20/24 sketch) at http://carmelasketch.blogspot.com

I recently received a lot of really cool ATCs from Linda, along with an ATC-size "magazine" and some other goodies. Take a look at them:

Thank you for the Anxious Ninja, Linda. I'm thinking down the road these may be marketable. Given the availability of cheese rinds, of course.

Hi Linda - Did you received the Insp. Quote Add & Pass yet?

  • Grace Sanford

Linda, I really thought I had replied to your very nice comment to me, but I couldn't find a reply from me anywhere, so I think I didn't and I'm sorry for not replying right away. I think ning can be a little complex sometimes with so many places to post and read messages. Anyway, Thank you so much for commenting to me about my stamps and collages. I know I was looking at your posted art and then I may have been distracted from completing that viewing and making my reply. There is a lot of your art I like as well, and I would love for us to make postcards for each other based on circles, since we are both in the circles group. I love circles! and I love triangles but didn't see a group for that.

  • Patricio - The Celestial Scribe

Linda, would you like to participate in a mail art call and a public exhibition in Brazil?

  • Patricio - The Celestial Scribe

Your answer is a participation.  Thank you!

  • Melissa Wand

Thanks for the great ATCs. I mailed you a collage the same day I received yours. I really liked the use of the old stamps. Do you get those on ebay?

  • Erin Young

Hi Linda. So , it's been kinda crazy and stressful over. Haven't slept in who knows how many days. I lost track. Lol. Anyway. I think I mailed you some starters last week with possibly finished jams. I can't remember. Maybe I think I sent them but didn't end up sending them. And today I finished some more jams and sent some starters. So I don't know if you are gonna get a lot from me next week most likely. Or just finished jams and a couple of starters. Lol. It appears I have lost my mind. Lol. So sorry. I don't even know if this message makes any sense. Lol

Linda, the Turtle Quad Jam is up on the Jammers page!

  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Linda, thank you for the lovely ATC you sent along with the Purple Jam. It just rose to the top of my mess here on the dining room table and I wasn't sure I'd thanked you for it. It's going up on the bulletin board right now!
  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Oh my gosh, Linda, what a wondeful package of ATC's you sent me! Love the "Landscapes" and "Martha." I've always been really intrigued by painters' palettes and "Martha" is like that. And you did on Single Buddy Jam with the Wayfarer card I sent you! So cool! I did several series of Wayfarer ATCS that all were based on the same materials. And, OH JOY a new trio jam set! Gives me a wonderful thing to start on next week!
  • Jessica

23.05.16 Dare Ms. Linda French, ...what a delightfully ironic  & funny black & white cat image  you selected for the"Black & White"group   & yes, it is also true that my efforts are often scornfully referred to as "duck art". Sincelery, Richard Canard

  • Grace Sanford

    Hi Linda
    Any news on my Boekie?
  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Linda, are you still involved in Mail Art? I'll send you something if so.....

  • Keith S. Chambers

Following-up on Toni's '?' . . . still involved in mailart? I've not been good at keeping up with everybody and my mailings have been sporadic . . . so please excuse my cluelessness for having to ask.
