Got one of your beautiful trademark people drawings that i love!!!!! Thanks, mail to you soon and be careful on the streets of Berkeley with those nutty protesters!!!

They should be making mail art instead of looting package stores!!!"power to the people":(

    Best, Neil

Hi Susan, Thanks for your comment and friending.  Truth be told I was a little worried about coming up with some political art too.  I have done in the past, but it was challenging for me. I'm intrigued that you're drawing a lot lately. One of my tentative new year goals is to draw more. I've done many kinds of art, but lately I've mostly done collage which I enjoy. Anyway, I'll send you something soon too, prob. not political though (smile). Bestest, Lynne

Hi Susan - thank you for the postcard - made me smile. I'm hoping that means bird 323 arrived safely. I'm blogging here: bird arrivals blog and the next 365 has just started the chicken series

Thanks for being part for the bird migration project.

Dear IUOMA members, i wanted to let you know of Lilac Susan McAllister's passing this morning in Berkeley Ca. She loved being a part of IUOMA and she lived for mail art. Thank you for this platform. Blessings to all

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    R.I.P. dear Susan.

So sad and in shock with this news.

Susan so often sent good TIME mail art :

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

  • Punk Barbies

  • De Villo Sloan

Susan McAllister was a wonderful artist and mail art friend. I will miss her and remember her.

  • Richard Canard

I was lucky enough to receive a few postcards from Susan McAllister. ...the images usually consisted of some bold simplified cartoonish head drawing with markers of red, black with critical empty white spaces. ... I did not know hardly anything about her but I admired  & liked her very much. I was oftentimes reminded of Pablo Picasso's statement:"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once (s)he grows up."

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    Susan will be dearly missed,

and yes, Richard, her "bold" black and white creations, too.

  • Angelica Paez

This is very sad news. Susan was one of the first people to send me art when I joined IUOMA. Her unique line work was always interesting. They reminded me of automatic drawings. RIP Susan, you will be missed.
  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

I'm so sorry about Susan -- she was a wonderful artist.

  • Dean aka Artist in Seine

Very sad indeed.  I will miss her.
