Earthling, this is the last but certainly not the least welcome message to IUOMA you receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. When you joined IUOMA on 27 december 2013 I was unable to welcome you on board. At the time I was in a Celestial Journey far beyond the Milky Way. Now, back to planet Earth, I´d love to be the other end if you wish to trade mail art with a celestial mail artist. If this is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:
The Celestial Scribe
Terrene Embassy
Republik van Patland
Caixa Postal 24827
Curitiba-PR
80510-970
Brazil
I look forward to see a piece of yours in our terrene mailbox. I will do my homework after receiving your artwork. This is nothing less than a Celestial Promise. I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland Official Envelope Provider.
My apologies - I am one of those at fault. I thought I had thanked you. I have a piece of mail art ready for you and I will be sending it in the next day or two. Don't be discouraged. It takes a while to build up momentum - but it is true that the more you send the more you will receive. Also take the time to comment on others blogs or the photos that others have uploaded and people will get to know you and be more likely to send. Keep at it though, the rewards will far outweigh the frustration in the end. I think a response rate of about 50% ( what Richard Baudet refers to in his experience) is however about what is average. I think it may even be lower than that depending on how careful you are about who to send to. I for example send a piece to all new members - and i suspect my response rate is way lower than 50% - but the effort is worth it for me for the few individuals who respond with excitement that they received their first unexpected mail art from me! It is getting a bit too expensive for me though...
one other thing - make sure your address is on everything you send out. It wasn't on the piece you sent me and that is why I probably didn't respond immediately. I probably put it aside to look your address up later and got sidetracked!
idk - send a written query to Jayne Lions. Very important: Mark "Attention Dw/" Indicate to Jayne to contact me on FB (after 11 pm ETS please). Instruct Jane to send you a card.
