Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
I like communication, art, paper, painting and concepts. The ideal combination for doing Mail-Art. Worked with rubberstamps as a child and started sending out letters as soon as I could write. Discovered that it was called mail-art in 1980. Have been discovering ever since and in the last years also promoting this free cultural exchange.

    I´m the curator of a mail art exibit which is part of the IX International Transpersonal Conference next september in Brazil. I was involved in another call and I thougt that by just publishing on "Events" the call would receive many contributions. Contrary to what I expected I received very few. The information about the call is already on "Events" but I want to succeed this time.  I started by sending invitation to newcomers because they are more connected and interested than olders.  Anything wrong with my line of thought?  Is there any problem if I´ll keep sending invitations on a one by one basis?  Patricio

    Amanda Telo created the project "stories that only exist when told" where she makes videos with stories that your grandparents share. I, Pamela exchange mail art for two years and found interesting join the two ideas. Stories told through a postcard.

    Lived history, told by parents, imagined, Morality or without connection, but stories that to exist need to be told. Any story that wanted to share.

    the project is to make mailbox art involving a local community. we have formed a team called the Mark Making Manifesto, and we have invited staff from a local cat protection charity to draw pictures of cats.. with their eyes closed! This is both a fun and revealing exercise. You have to trust yourself, and draw without the obvious hand-eye co-ordination. The results so far , as tested by fellow students and friends, have been equally interesting and amusing. The final multiples that we send out will all incorporate the cat protection charity's logo and a brief description of their work, to promote their wonderful charity and raise awareness of their hard work.
