Walter:  If you wish to go beyond ocean and borders with the recycling impulse, Brazil could be a proper arena.  If you feel ok with the proposal, send your non retentive mail art to:

    The Celestial Scribe

    Av. Paraná, 1489 - Apto. 1004

    Curitiba-PR

    82510-000

    Brazil

On receiving your piece I will action my own impulse and you will be receiving a brazilian no retentive mail art.  That´s a celestial promise.  I´m Patricio, the Celestial Scribe

I will also be performing and exhibiting at the gallery of Tiziana in Venice Mestre.

    Hi Walter,

I have made it to Venice!

    BUT...

I forgot to bring my diary so I am having to find out about dates, AND I'm having many difficulties with my emails.

The exhibition in the EHF gallery is from 19th to 23 October, address San Polo 387.

I am still trying to get (again) the details for the other stuff in Mestre, I'll send it on when I have it.

Walter - you'll see :-) - living at the bottom of the world has its FAB pluses - BUT mail is SO SLOW .... - Its like being back in the 16th Century :-) - something is wending its very slow way to you :-) X

Hi! Yep the 45 rpm/7" record was sent in a white paper sleeve. A French IUOMA guy (JF Chappel) and myself are testing the patience of la Poste (the French post office) by seeing what we can mail. So far it's accepted -- wooden biscuit lids and cheese box lids; undersized and oversized envelopes; badly and incorrectly addressed cards and envelopes; addresses written in cyrillic letters; very out-of-date postage stamps; CD cases, etc.

The guy who really pushes this to extremes is Dean Marks -- check out his IUOMA page.

I've just finished an 'Envelope A Day' for a year project -- see www.val-herman-art.eu Envelope Art, then Envelope a Day -- in which I experimented with Envelopes in the Dutch, British and French post systems: they all got delivered.

You've got a gifted niece. Ask her if she'd like to exchange mail Art with me? If so, send me her name and address.

And if you'd like to as well, then mail mesomething and i PROMISE to send you something back.

    Bon Weekend, Moby

  • Carla Cryptic

Thanks for your friendship!  :D  Please send me your address and I'll send you something in the mail. ;)
  • Carla Cryptic

I totally agree about the surprise element - that's why I rarely post images of what I've sent out until the person I sent them to lets me know they've received them.  I started doing mail art in the 70's so I prefer to get things in the mail before I see them online.  On the other hand, there are people who just have to post them online right away so I try to be open-minded for their sakes.  ;)
  • Carla Cryptic

LOL - resistance is futile! ;)
  • Susan McAllister

I love the snail mail stamp. Thanks for sending it to me.
  • Valentine Mark Herman

Thanks! Look forward to receiving the ex[erimental card. Have just been to a post office in the uk where they refused to sell me 10 7p and 1 5p stamp, insisting that I buy a 75p stamp instead. I didn't and will try and find a more friendly post office. No wonder postql services qre losing bsiness! Regards, Val
  • cheryl penn

Interesting point you brought up in the inbox discussion :-)! No mail from me? :-) X
  • Susan McAllister

What a fun card. Thanks so much.
  • Susan McAllister

Hey Walter, I was referring to the great postcard you sent me a couple of weeks ago. Sorry it took me so long to thank you for it.

A blank envelope may be too easy an option...but I really don't believe there is such a thing as an easy option in art practise. Just create. Too much art theory, as you said, Walter!! And please don't send me a blank envelope! Grazie.
