Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
I need to create some little piece each day, otherwise the world chews up my spirit and feeds it back to me piece by piece. They don't call me The Contrarian for nothing.

Welcome to the Union, Marian. Glad you joined us. I'm the mentor for January, on my last day, but I'll be around to help if your questions aren't answered in NEw to IUOMA or the group Ask Anything. My contact info is on my IUOMA page.

The fractals are .jpg compressed bitmaps generated by xaos fractal zoomer and captured by Windows snipping tool. I consider myself more an explorer, capturing things I see than an artist.

    Bonsoir, Purpleferret*!

Thanks very much for your tulip and music card, and all the stamps thereon. As a tulip lovern wanna-be-musician and philatelist (part-time, and only when I can afford to buy stamps, I very much like all the different elements of it. Merci beaucoup!

    I'll be mailing you something back soon;

    Best wishes, Val

    *'Purpleferret'? Why?? Do tell...

  • Jim SantAmour

your wonderful cat art piece arrived safe and sound!  thanks so much (I have six cats...)

    -Jim.

    Thank you!

2 more questions, if I may:

     i) what did you rescue ferrets from?

ii) what did you do with them when you had rescued them?

In the NE of England, where I grew up, many people kept ferrets and hunted rabbits with them. Others kept pîgeons. Or greyhounds. Or whippets.

Because I had a deprived childhood (I was only permitted to sit in the Rolls Royce at weekends when the xhauffeur was off dutc), I was only allowed goldfish and a hamster..

  • Valentine Mark Herman

Thank you. That sounds like very good and kind work you are doing: good luck!

Earthling, this is the last but certainly not the least welcome message to IUOMA you receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. When you joined IUOMA on january 27 I was unable to welcome you on board.  At the time I was in a Celestial Journey far beyond the Milky Way. Now, back to planet Earth, I´d love to be the other end if you wish to trade mail art with a celestial mail artist. If this is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:

    The Celestial Scribe

    Terrene Embassy

    Republik van Patland

    Caixa Postal 24827

    Curitiba-PR

    80510-970

    Brazil

I look forward to see a piece of yours in our terrene mailbox. I will do my homework after receiving your artwork. This is nothing less than a Celestial Promise. I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland Official Envelope Provider.

The celestial mission became, of course, to prevent the world to keep chewing up your spirit.  That time is over. The South is ready when the North is....

Don't worry lol I thought that was quick as only posted it yesterday, then realised mine to you is in a plain envelope and far from stunning. I'm afraid my artistic skills are seriously lacking lol x
