Hey Mary-Anne - please put your name and address on the waiting list for Project 26 Volume 2 - that way we can keep track of who wants in on the next project x
Thanks Mary Anne, already mail art is on its way to you, but the next time I will have some Greek writing on the envelope. However, there will have to be English as well. I have had some mail end up in Fiji Island because the only "readable" part of my address was the post code (which without GREECE written in English next to the postal code, might end up in the South Seas!) Also, there are similarities between Greek letters and Russian...so I have to spell it out clearly in ENGLISH!
It's a global village out there and seems that English is the universal language....
Well, be on the look out for a Greek "ΑΕΡΟΠΟΡΙΚΩΣ" blue and white envelope, one is coming your way soon!
Thank you Mary Anne. I've always been a big Cornell fan. My first art projects were all homages to Cornell. I love the authenticity of your work. They fooled me when I opened up your envelope. This is high praise.
Cornell is one of my true heroes. I adore his work, have even read poetry inspired by it. He lived such a quiet existence, and his gift just keeps on giving. Extraordinary. Your stamp says it all beautifully. Had I a print of it, it would go on a wall in my studio--or maybe my living room-it's that good. Love your work!
Thanks for the friendship! It may take a while, but you may expect something from me at some point here upcoming. Sorry to be so vague. I've barely begun, yet already had some projects pending, and so must scramble to catch up!
Yes, probably too posh for the current gritty factory where the Mickle Gate stamps are produced. But you must remember this was the seal of the MGP circa 1914. The factory, no less gritty back then, had an air of refinement in the front office exemplified by the solid gold cuspidor in the waiting room.
I'm not sure I understand the angst about the ono....is there some major corporate consortium of lawyers ready to descend if you go through with it....or is it just a major undertaking?
Your luscious stamps arrived today. Thanks so much. I love your work. It really encourages me to step up to the plate and create a worthy response. (Please join me now in singing the Fredlandia national anthem.) Your friend in Santa Fe, David
I like and collecting (if I can) old office stamps. The typography is simply and practical, and the texts are so oldstyle.I purchased this one at a flea market in Hungary, but ist it an old german bureu stamp
for uncontrolled packed wares. Unfortunatelly stamping going slowly out of fashion... :-(
Hi MAryAnn, after waiting so long, and before that investing the efford in making the object, it deserved the threatment with videos. This way the work will last a bit longer in the digital world.....
Mail arrived today . . Many Thanks . . Great stamps . . As a lover of all things Bray . . and Cornell . . my top votes there . . .I'll be sending some your way soon . .
here is an invitation to pARTicipate in the SECREt eXCHANGE exhibitions...pass the invitation on to your friends, and let me know on my page if you will or won't be able to contribute; go to IUoMA Events...or click on the link http://secretexchange.yolasite.com/ thx, Terry Reid, and hope to hear from you
