This is a friendly welcome to The Eternal Network from a friendly mail artist living in a friendly country. A perfect start here is mail-art exchange. I would like to be the other end on your very beginning at IUOMA when you decide it’s the right time for you to do start doing it. If that’s the case…. your envelope should read as follows:
The Celestial Scribe Caixa Postal, 24827 Curitiba-PR 80510-970 Brazil
II look forward to see your piece in my mailbox. Yes!, I will do my homework after receiving yours. That’s a celestial promise. I’m Patricio, The Celestial Scribe & Envelope Provider.
Hi New Friend Jen! Yes, I'd be only too pleased to exchange some Mail Art with you. I'm going to the Uk tomorrow for a few days, so why don't you start, and I'll reply when I get back atthe end of the month.
Thanks for telling me your interests. Mine are, in no particular order, music (vinyl only, rock'n'roll almost excludively), cats (we have 2), collecting junk at flea markets, non-digital photography, swimming when it's cold and mountain biking when it's warm, reading (European detective series), going to the pub at 6 every evening for a glass of wine and to read the local papers, drinking with friends & in moderation (but not eating), and, of course art -- for my story as an artist see www.val-herman-art.eu
Hi Stimpdawg. Thanks for your friendship. I'm flattered someone thinks I'm a "go to" for info on trash books.
The form was invented by Diane Keys (DK). She has an IUOMA group called "All Things Trashpo" that has interesting material.
My take would be: A trashbook is an open form book composed of found material - on one level simply a document of collaged, found material. You can get by with that.
However, Trashpo (trash poetry) is technically a form of visual poetry, so the material you use, ideally, would have words, text, etc. as well as visual images. Here's a great blog by Marie Wintzer that shows an "aesthetic" Trashbook. Some Trashbooks are "artistic" and others anti-art. You can check out the TrashPo Litzer Prize Landfill of Fame in All Things Trashpo to find out who invented them.
No problem, Jen. I've been on a bit of a hiatus myself, so I totally understand what you mean by "super busy". I look forward to your mail. Thanks. :^)

It's really very simple.
