Hi Jon -- Got the Winston-Salem collage postcard this week! Love it. Posted a photo on my page. I love the faded effect you get. Atmospheric. Thanks and something is on its way to you.
Hi Jon....wanted to let you know I used your tape transfer method on a mail art piece to Guido...I really liked the effect....thanks for sharing... *-*
Hey Jon! Hope you know that I'm not really mad at you - can't wait to see what mail art of receive from you next buddy. Thanks for the list of IUOMA friends, will be planning to work on some new pieces in the coming days/weeks. You're on the list. XO
Jon: you card arrived last friday. Thank you very much. I enjoyed seeing your name in the mailbox once again. I made something for you yesterday and should be on its merry way tomorrow. Again, pay attention to a hummingbird flyng over Winstom Salem.
On behalf of our Mail Art (Incoming) Department, I am writing to inform you that we have received your recent 'Vacation Suggestions' postcard that featured your kitchen, and the back of two heads (one of which you claimed to be your Friend).
We will be dealing with the matters that you raised within the next few days, and I have issued instructions to our Mail Art (Outgoing) Department to mail you something back within the next few days (after it has been cleared by our Legal Affairs team and Corporate Responsibilities Division)..
Thank you once again for doing business with us. We value our customers most sincerely.
Glad to see that my "autumn" arrived in Winston Salem, Jon! ;miss getting mail art from you, but you sound busy...and traveling. Have a good trip, and see you in the mail soon again!
Wow! You had amazing experiences in China, Jon! Thank you so much for this booklet...great tales! (love the blue taped envelope, and stamp too!) I must make a mini blog of it! Something in the mail to you soon. xx
Bonsoir Jon! I got your card today: thanks. Only another 14 acknowledgements needed. If the tennis player on tha card was you, I wonder if anyone has told you that you have nice legs? If they haven't...well I won't. It's a nice card, though, so THANKS.
Regards, Val...who will mail you something back soon.
Jon! I was away from the IUOMA scene for a bit and didn't thank you for your last card-slip it to me! Totally fun. I've finally got something going out to you as soon as I can get to the post office. Epic snows here!
Hi, Jon. I'm glad the card arrived. I wasn't sure how it would travel with no envelope. But that's the fun of mail art, yes? To see what will travel? Have a great weekend!
I received your lovely postcard in the mail today! I just wanted you to know I worked on yours all evening and it should be ready to be mailed tomorrow!
Bonjour Jon and thanks for the latest 'Flowers & prayers' card. I wonder: have ou found religion? (Did you ever loose it?) I'll be mailing you something back next week. in the meantime, get your atlas and/or phone directory out and locate Burkina Faso.
Yay I'm so happy you received the card! I actually bought the tape but I knew the pattern and color of the tape would look good with the card. So technically it wasn't a special process lol. Sorry it took me so long to respond I been swamped with homework this weekend. I have color studies, calligraphy assignments, and my own painting series for my painting class.
Thank you for the card! I loved the vintagy cowboy. It reminds me of my south Texas in-laws. They all wear boots and cowboy hats and talk about the benefits of round-baling as apposed to square baling hay. You know, you southern lad, you!
I used Tombo roll on adhesive to arrange the collage 'bits', then I run the card through a Scotch TL901 laminating machine a few times; just to make sure there are as few bubbles as possible. The laminating machine was less than $30 at Wal-Mart, kinda pricey, but it keeps the collages intact; & protects anything with watercolors/ink from getting wet.
If the piece is an odd size for a laminating envelope, I use Mod Podge sealant/adhesive over the whole thing after I've used the roll-on adhesive. Although that can, in some cases, smear any ink or paint you've added (I like the effect personally).
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful tape transfer came in today's mail! Thank you so much, Jon! there are a few things in the mail for you from Greece...coming soon!

I will send you one of my attempts. A video would be nice, but the mystery of trying to figure out the process and experimenting is my greatest joy.
Peace,

Bonjour!
I wondered how, and why, you had transformed your Mail Art from a Jon Foster Special Postcard to Something That Had To Fit In An Envelope?
And then I opened it, and found your China Booklet...and card.
For which, many thanks indeed.
I'll read the Booklet later today, promise.
Christmas, with the two of you fast asleep, at Chez Jon's seems to be as lively as Christmas Chez Val's.
I'll mail you something back soon.
Thanks again, and don't forget,
Liberté, Egalité et Arte Postale!
(I wonder what that looks like in Chinese script?)
