now that our uk postage stamps have changed and I won't be using tons of low value stamps that take up all the envelope space, my focus has returned to creating and using artistamps. im gonna have fun making some quirky designs
after creating some small artist amps that will fit on my envelopes, I decided to create a couple of larger variations in a sheet with limited numbers of ten of each sheet. is anyone interested in trading for them? they are not self adhesive.
I decided I didn't like the sewing tracing marker wheel tool I recently bought. it just didn't give a nice postage stamp edge to the paper. I already have a couple of craft die cutters that cut out a small grid of perforated stamps of small stamp size, these are good for tiny image rubber stamps I have. but I really wanted a perforator so I could create bigger stamps and larger stamp grids. I just found a perfect item on Etsy as built and sold byhttps://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/workshopHarlamov?ref=nla_listing_details he seems a popular seller for these items
New artistamps, commemorating those wacky Neoists and all their controversy: Monty Cantsin and Karen Eliot. Dig into them at least on Wikipedia if you're not familiar with their pranks. We need more of this now! Thanks as always to Adam R.!
Found some '90s stamps that thought it would be appropriate to make some reprints. Happy to share. Top-to-bottom: Jürgen Olbrich, Arturo Fallico, Stephen Perkins (or was John Held Jr. the original?), and 2 rows of Crackerjack (Chuck Welch).
just starting out, with a collaboration with a friend's art - I am having fun with a rosback perforator co-worker of mine -- would love to learn by trading, if anyone is interested message me with an address and I'll send a sheet
I have in the past created mini sheets of 6 or 12 stamps from two sissix craft die cutters- but as good as these two dies are, the size is limiting. After some trial and error for creating an edging that’s like perforated edges I have got myself a perforating punch - it’s a small punch that I can only do narrow strips of stamps or with a bit of folding manipulation I can possibly punch an A5 sheet of maybe 4 larger stamps.
but this manipulation is quite tricky and very time consuming to even just work one peice of paper - plus with the folding makes me concerned about blunting the perforating blades.
I’d like to be able to take part in the swapping of the limited edition sheets of stamps
you all create, but is it acceptable for me to only be able to create my first limited editions as small half sheets or long strip sheets of stamps against your A4 sized sets?
The only other way I can do my own A4 limiters is to not perforate them myself and to just mark the devisions
I made perforated sheets by myself today with a needle for a sewing machine. I perforated one by one with my hand !! And here are my ArtiStamps made with my hand-carved stamps :
