been doing zines..or fanzines for years..my zine ' Loafing The Donkey' a zine of trash american culture, has been printing since 1977. issue number 79 is out soon...google LOAFING THE DONKEY ZINE...
Does anyone else make really *tiny* zines? I'm making a series of tiny poetry zines that contain one Haiku poem each (with each of the three lines of the typewritten Haiku on their own page spread.) I printed and folded a bunch of individual copies yesterday, all made from a stack of of 3x4 inch papers.
I have two of my original mini zines, #1 and #2, full-colour, 14 pages made with my hand-carved stamps. If anyone wants to swap, please message me! :-)
as a beginner I am currently working on a little comic-zine about "mr. marker". thinking about how many copies I should make.. so: who would like to swap zines?
if you like, have a look here... maybe you like to use this workflow for production... we are also looking for content inside of the linked art project.
hello rebekka, ok. keep in mind, a zine with 16 pages has frontside and backside and page 2 and 15 should be empty. so without a page with text you end up with "only" 12 or even 11 pages...
how do people in this community tend to receive punk zines? i publish an art one that teeters on that edge and would like to get a general opinion before i mail it out
This includes, but is not limited to, Origami, paper airplanes, textile, stitching, sculpture, painting on paper, printmaking, collage, book arts, artist’s books and 3-dimensional works.
Ideally emphasizing a relationship between artist, media, and the surface (paper).
The content must be of a nature that a public entity can display for the enjoyment of a diverse, family-type audience.
A response to you reaching out and expressing your interest in gathering opinions regarding the reception of punk zines.
As a member of this group 'Zines', I can confidently say that the ethos of sharing and creating zines resonates deeply with many of us here. Personally, I find immense joy in both producing and exchanging zines with fellow enthusiasts. It's a wonderful way to connect, share ideas, and celebrate our diverse perspectives.
Moreover, I believe that many others share a similar sentiment. The act of exchanging zines fosters a sense of camaraderie and allows us to explore various artistic expressions and alternative viewpoints.
Therefore, I'm excited to hear about your art zine and its unique perspective. Given the enthusiasm for zine culture within our community, I'm optimistic that your work will be warmly received and appreciated by many. There are individuals like myself eagerly anticipating the opportunity to engage with and collect your creation.
I enjoyed the new Bon-Zine by Bonniediva about Woman’s Day. It beautifully reflects on the traditional role of women in the past. The creative and thoughtful content offers a nostalgic glimpse into how women have shaped our history and culture.
I received a well-filled envelope packed with works by Theo Nelson, including the book of stuff (number 802) using add & pass sheets.
I love the thoughtful composition of the sheets where so many others have contributed. It’s a solid piece with many layers, truly a joy to receive. Thank you, Theo!
My latest chapbook/zine: Complete Incomplete Cubes (after Sol Lewitt) contains all 4096 incomplete (plus "blank" and complete) cubes on 16pages. Let me know if you'd like one and I'll mail a copy to you!
I’m a huge fan, collector, and creator of zines, so I’d absolutely love a copy! Your ‘Complete Incomplete Cubes’ sounds amazing and Sol LeWitt is an incredible inspiration. I’d love to see all those variations in such a compact format.
the top one is a sort of an altered (by coco muchmore and judi kauffman) version of my Cardboard Heads zine which documented cardboard heads i mailed out awhile back. the bottom one features work i've done at our cut 'n' paste events here in tainan. selections from work spanning ten years.
I see. I think I read somewhere that this zine website currently has only one staff member to manage everything, so that is why this website looks like nothing is going on now. There is even no sign up section, only sign in.
There used to be this zine website, www dot wemakezines dot com but it seems this site is no more ?
My browser remembered me having an account on that website with an e-mail address I don't use anymore. Logging in didn't work and I have a distant memory that it got shut down a few years ago.
i have seen www dot wemakezines dot com with some active members before, but I did not get to join because that site seemed rather inactive. Oh, well, we have this zine group amyway which is good 🙂
