Got one today that looks like a big puzzle piece from San Antonio, TX, but can't find the name Ecaterina as a member to send a thank you.  Does anyone know this name?

  • Helga Deb

Hi everyone! I just joined this group.
Are we talking just odd shaped postcards, or odd shaped mail?

And Erni, i like your stamp!

...and more, to be blogged soon :-)

    Thank you so much! xxx

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Thank you Mary! The "foot" has arrived in Greece:

Hope you got the odd-shaped card wine card from Greece, Mary?

  • Heleen de Vaan

Foldable banana (approx. 75 cms when unfolded).

Sent to Greece. I'm looking forward to knowing if it'll arrive.

(Apoplogies for the changing of the 'K' into a 'C', Katerina! It was easier to write it this way :-)

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    It may need help?

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Sorry, the Banana never arrived, Heleen :-(

But a PICKLE did! From JessiebyDesign! Yay!

    blogged here:

Odd shaped postcard from Jessie in Nebraska

  • Heleen de Vaan

I still keep hope it'll arrive one day!

Anyhow, the pickle is great, too!

  • Jessie

Sorry to hear we have a Banana that is MIA! I bet it'll turn up.
  • Heleen de Vaan

Thanks to Eva's weblog post my attention was attracted to this contest:  Ripley's Strange Mail Contest!

Sure all of you must have great ideas to post to Ripley, looking forward to see it here, too (if you want to participate and share your picture here, too, of course) :-)

  • Heleen de Vaan

Sent my first odd mail for the contest! I hope it will arrive well. However  it not really is strange mail: when I submitted the entry form, the receiver replied that he liked it and that he already had received a green one! :-)

  • Heleen de Vaan

Great package which survived traveling via mail from Australia to the Netherlands:

And inside a cheerful and colourful content:

It was part of a 'Random objects' swap at the LEP.
Meanwhile I had send a teaspoon, packed in a small (so to the mail companies: odd shaped) package:

I am not sure whether it has arrived or not (and if not, if it will arrive at all - so I sent an other random object, this time packed in a normal shaped postal package, so not shown here :-) ).

  • Heleen de Vaan

The orange hand made it from the Netherlands to Florida! And is published on Ripley's website, together with even weirder mailed objects :-)

As a 'thank you' I received a book of Ripley, and also an other book - alas posted in a normal envelope, but with kind messages.

And today I posted a second object for the strange mail contest: a book. Well, that seems usual (apart from the fact that I posted it without envelope or any other cover). However the book is about mail, and I wrote about it here in IUOMA in an other group: it's about an Englishman who posted the most weird objects. Among them onions and: himself. And his bike :-) Over 110 years ago!

  • Heleen de Vaan

Tiny wooden figures, three of them with some things attached.
I am curious to know if they'll arrive at all!..

I'll put them in the letterbox tomorrow (a birdhouse and bird to Mary, a bird and butterfly to Val, and the remaing three to Ripley), and will keep my fingers crossed that they won't get lost in the post :-).

  • Lynn Radford

Loving all the great posts in this group! Just wanted to share the odd shaped pieces I've recently created from 6-pack carriers. There was a total of eight.

  • Amy L. Tabler-Yingling

Sorry A.Sleep about the extra postage I am glad you didn't get charged, I did take it to the post office and they told me one stamp was enough next time I have an odd shaped one I might just put an xtra stamp or two on it just to be safe

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    It's a hexagon!

Sparkles on a great fun "odd shape" postcard from Linda French!

but the shape of a Vincent portrait from the Crackerjack Kid!

  • Heleen de Vaan

Great banana shaped card from Linda French.

Already received some tiwme ago but I think it matches this group, too!

  • Heleen de Vaan

Odd shaped postcards (or better: mail art created out of used coffee filters, size 4) you can send to the Used Coffeefilter Mail Art project

I wanted to send mine naked but despite of glueing all edges alas too many coffee grains still came out of the coffee filter postcard. To not disturb other mail users by having their mail coffeefied I finally decided to put some plastic around it...

Curious to know if it will arrive at the aimed destiny, this tiny plastic box. It is the content of a chocolate 'surprise' egg.

Hope it will travel well through the postal system, from the Netherlands to Belgium.

  • Heleen de Vaan

Orange colour + cow = mail for Eva :-)

  • Norma Soulet

I just joined this group. Can't wait to receive an Odd Shaped Postcard in the mail from someone. I will definitely send one in return. :)

  • Norma Soulet

    Hi,

Hope everyone is doing well. :)

I was wondering if anyone would like to send me an Odd Shape Postcard.

I still haven't gotten one from this group.

    Hugs,

  • Jan Hodgman

Well, this one isn't exactly "odd-shaped" but it's unusual to receive a square canvas, which is what this is----quite delightful.

    Hi Barbargirl,

    Hope you are doing well.

Thank you so much for the FIRST Odd shaped postcard from this group!

I really enjoyed the little envelope with the note. The sticker with the word" STOP, don't look inside" didn't stop me from looking! LOL
