Title: "Poetic Justice?"

I realise this isn't completely monochrome, but I felt that letting the gold show through made a better statement. What do you think about selective colouring as an essential part of B&W imagery?

 

I am seriously considering stepping into a full format direct print exposure camera method. I will make my own camera, of course, and steer clear of commercial products wherever possible. Commercial paper and fixer are a must right now due to the increasing cost of silver nitrate pastes and the complete lack of any substitute for fixer. I would like to explore other methods as well, like glass plate and possibly using alternative sensitizers (lavender oil, etc.).

 

I first thought of the idea as a way of circumventing the lack of decent lab processing services, lowering costs, and to expedite larger format prints for showing. I might actually be able to afford to start sending out prints in Mail Art then.

 

Anyone have any thoughts?
