Nothing is happening in this Group. I am ending it by suspending all the members, including you. Let me know if you (Lynne?) want to take over the management of the Group and breathe some new life into it. Regards, Val

Ooo, Carla, I love visiting the Catholic Cemetery and also Mountain View Cemetery on Piedmont Avenue! Indeed, we ought to make plans for a photo trip, especially since the tulips will be out soon.
I'm sorry that you've been unwell lately. Take care!

Thanks Bifidus this is good. Yes.
Much preoccupied with death + our mortal condion at he moment - the sun in Pisces anbd I'm pulled this way --and that ! .....
I used to live just outside of Maastricht, in the Deep South of the Netherlands. Between Maastricht and Vaals (where the Dutch German border is) is a village called margraten. In Margraten there is an American Military Cemetery (AMC) -- one of many in the Ardennes area, all of which look exactly like Arlington.
We used to have a very part-time and not usually-very sober gardener. His father was one of the locals who were employed in the AMC graveyard when it was established immediately after WW2. Over a glass of Dutch gin one evening, he told us that there were X American troops buried in the AMC Margraten, but that the true number of people buried there was actually X+1 because he had illegally buried his father there when he died; Only he knew the exact location of his father's grave (which was not marked in any official way).
Regards, Val
