MAIL ART CALL – MAIL ART, ART TO RESIST #3
THE COLLECTIVE TO BUILD NEW IMAGINARIES
As we can confirm with great pleasure that the exhibition of the call – “Mail Art, Art to resist #3” will be held from March 29 to May 5, 2024 at the Namur’s Culture House “le Delta” as part of a larger project around the postcard, we are extending the call until September 30, 2023. Looking forward to (re)-reading you!
We are going through a new period of crises: climate change, a significant increase of social injustices against the backdrop of the energy crisis, increasing authoritarianism, wars, etc. There is a lot of anxiety-provoking news.
In order not to sink in front of all this, it is important to awaken our energies and our creativity... to awaken our imaginaries or to build new ones. And, in this too often individualistic world, why not by relying on the collective?
Mail art, as simple as a letter in the post !
- Choose a postcard size cardboard or an envelope (or make it yourself) (max. size 10x15 cm – 4x6 inch)
- Take up the theme, transmute it through the alchemical process that is your creativity and illustrate it (free technique : drawing, painting, collage, silk-screen printing, calligraphy, embroidery, etc.).
- Send us an e-mail with your contact details (last name, first name, postal address and e-mail) to confirm your participation : anne.gilis@afico.be or laurent.wilmet@afico.be. Send the postcard or envelope before September the 30th 2023 to : AFICo asbl, rue Saint Nicolas 84, B‑5000 Namur, Belgium
An exhibition will be held in Namur’s Culture House “Le Delta” from March 29 till May 5, 2024 as part of a larger project around the postcard.
