COLLAGE OPEN CALL “Pocket William”
“Pocket William” is an exhibition project dedicated to the 260th anniversary of the birth of William Shakespeare. The project is organized in the exhibition space of the A.P. Chekhov Library of St. Petersburg.
Deadline
Submission of works is from September 10 till October 28, 2024.
The list of selected works will be published on the project page (http://williamvkarmane.tilda.ws) no later than October 31, 2024.
The exhibition will be held from November 8 till November 30, 2024.
Themes for collages
Associations related to the name of the writer, his image, as well as inspired by Shakespeare's era (16th century, Renaissance era).
Metaphors and allusions to the works of William Shakespeare.
Collages closely related to texts and referring to specific plots, images, quotations, or illustrations of favorite works or excerpts from them.

Requirements for work submission
Everyone is invited to participate in the exhibition project.
Each participant can submit up to 3 collages.
Creative artworks for the Exhibition Project can be submitted both in paper and in digital form. Paper works are accepted in A.P. Chekhov Central Regional Library at the following address: St. Petersburg, Turku St. 11, bldg. 1 or sent by mail: 192071, St. Petersburg, Turku St. 11, bldg.1, Russia.
Recipient: A.P. Chekhov Central Regional Library, in the subject line of the letter it is necessary to specify - project “William in the pocket”. Digital works are sent through the application form (google-form).
After the end of the exhibition, the participant has the opportunity to pick up their work by December 31, 2024. There is no postal mailing of the works back.
Creative artworks sent digitally will be printed by the organizer without guarantee of accurate color reproduction.
The works should be accompanied by: a title, a brief description of the idea of the work, a video or an audio message of the author with a story about themselves and their artwork.
Technical requirements
The size of the creative artwork is strictly A5, vertical orientation. Paper and digital collages are accepted.
300 dpi, size 1748x2480 px, two files: for printing CMYK - tiff and for placing on the site and social networks RGB - jpeg.
Tiff files: one layer.
Only scanned works are accepted, photos of originals are not accepted.
