What MAeP:
Mail Art Exchange Project is an international project of Mail Art was born in 2013. MAEP is a continuous flow of ideas. Ideas which, in a sense, they understand what surrounds us.
Understanding Art and its continuity, its infinite arms ... The search continues in the non-perfection that leads to something unique and new. Experiment, make mistakes, act and understand. At least groped without fear to experiment and fail.
A phrase I recall with pleasure is that of Ray Johnson: - Understanding the things participating. Always open new doors and leave them open. - This is one of those doors. Mail art, Mail Art Project, in particular, is an experience. An imaginary line that connects several countries simultaneously, which begins and ends at the point of origin. It 'a free exchange of ideas. A collection of special works, created not to be sold, but gathered and held dear, such as memories. Almost all the works are pure freedom, inspired by several themes, some of the time, in part to everyday life. It is not important to the topic at MAEP but the means and the bond that is born between the participating artists. Ordinary mail is the medium that survives even in the technological age. With the freedom of expression and language, the son of the contemporary world, the call to artists is an excuse to start a collaboration, the more durable as possible, to bring out the desires, needs and wishes of individuals who have traditions, customs and a background different from one another. MAEP is the thought that is transformed and becomes a work of art. There is no mention of commercial work. Giovanni Bonanno often speaks of Mail Art as a huge dinosaur planet that regenerates and persists with the contributions of many spontaneous individual attendance. MAEP is this. And 'the spontaneity and the desire to communicate that they are behind the project, overcoming the geographical distance.
