Why monsters?

Why make art about monsters? It's childish, ridiculous, and vulgar, and I suppose there are other good reasons, as well. I've been fascinated with creatures, ghosts, spooks, robots, aliens, and such…Continue

I have a Monster-y piece of Mail Art ready to go...but no recipient for it. (I'm "new"...sort of). I'll happily send it (and a note) to the first person who responds to this (as long as they are not the same person who responds to my other Mail Art "contest" of the moment in a different section of IUOMA). Good luck...and I hope you like it. CHEERS!

I usually do a different mail art, but today I wanted to experiment. This is a linocut with a demonic Japanese theatrical mask, on thin paper and embroidery with golden thread on top. х)))

Ha ha ha!!! I just went back and looked at all the monsters posted on here in the last few months... Wonderful! The "Monster Party!" was actually an event that happened in Longview, WA, USA back in October of 2011, where I was allowed to set up a mail art display at a local arcade for a Halloween party. It was a smashing success (for the couple dozen people who showed up, played games, and saw some great art...) Since then, the Monster Party has been asleep---until something happened and the monsters returned.

I LOVE IT!
