And please forgive one more - yes - Marcela Peral, the the great Sandpoet of Argentina.

As far as I know, in addition to other work, Marcela started the Sandp "Happenings." The artists would find a sandy beach and create Sandpo by the waterside that might be erased by the waves or however they conceived it - maybe even some environmental sand sculpture. I think some of the mail-art was displayed on the beaches as Sandpo exhibitions in the "Happenings."

I hesitate to post this link at the risk of tarnishing Sandpo, yet it has historical relevance. Diane Keys (DK) is so well known now for Trashpo and DKult, but who remembers her pivotal role in Sandpo? There were also "The 16 Points of Sandpo" and DK's role as Minister of Propaganda" that made such huge improvements following the Cheryl Penn clay tablets incident that went down among "The Great Errors of Sandpo."

Katerina found the link to the Homeric Sandpo blog that also contains the manifesto as well as comments and work by most of the artists who experimented with Sandpo. I think a lot of excellent work was produced. It would be nice to see some new Sandpo for sure.

And thanks to whomever for reviving Paul (and Helen's) amazing "Sandpo the Movie." Such a classic!
