Welcome to the Images of Global Peace MailArt media archive. The Images of Global Peace MailArt show was organized well before HTTP was a part of everyday life. 234 artists from 34 countries each shared individual expression on the theme of Images of Global Peace. Images, sounds and video are being archived here as one node in the global MailArt network.
The Images of Global Peace show was on exhibit at the Illinois State Capital Building main rotunda for one month, two full weeks longer than rules of the time allowed for exhibits inside the Capital Building. Prior to the Capital exhibition the exhibit was at the University of Illinois at Springfield, formerly Sangamon State University.
The Images of Global Peace exhibition attracted newspaper, television, radio coverage and approximately 2000 people per day started their tour of the Illinois State Capital Building at the Images of Global Peace show.
A MailArtumentary was produced in 1992 about Images of Global Peace including many of the exhibits, the MailArt story, local musicians and more. The master Umatic video tapes of the MailArtumentary were restored from a sticky and fungi contaminated condition one meter at a time. The restoration has allowed the Images of Global Peace MailArtumentary to be remixed and released in an updated albeit true to the original form.
Images, music and the MailArtumentary Remix are being archived here for your own inspiration and sharing.
Images of Global Peace T-shirts and Mugs are available at: http://www.cafepress.com/imagesofglobalpeace
A note to anyone new to MailArt ... please recognize the reciprocal nature of the global MailArt network and be sure to share and share alike!
Brian.

Wow, your Mailartumentary photos are amazing. Is there more? A film?
PS, welcome to IUOMA. Cute hat.
Brian, this is a friendly welcome to The Eternal Network from a celestial mail artist born and raised in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. A perfect start here is mail-art exchange and I would love to be the other end when you decide it’s the right time for you to start trading mail art. If that’s the case at the time, your envelope should read as follows:
The Celestial Scribe
Terrene Embassy
Celestial Republik van Patland
Caixa Postal 24827
Curitiba-PR
80510-970
Brazil
II look forward to see your piece in my terrene mailbox. Yes! I will do my homework after receiving yours. This is a celestial promise. I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Envelope Provider.
